David Sedaris is a Grammy-nominated American comedian, writer, author and radio commentator. Sedaris was born in Binghamton, New York, and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina, but currently lives in London, England.
Sedaris became very popular in the 1990's with the broadcast of his essay "SantaLand Diaries" on National Public Radio. David Sedaris has released five essay collections that have become New York Time Best Sellers. These collections are. Naked (1997), Holidays on Ice (1997), Me Talk Pretty One Day (2000), Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim (2004), and When You Are Engulfed in Flames (2008).
As of 2008, his books have collectively sold seven million copies. Much of Sedaris's humor and writings are autobiographical, and consist of topics like his family, employment and sexuality.
