Jackson Browne

Jackson Browne is a well-known American rock singer, songwriter, and musician. Born in Heidelberg, Germany (where his father served as an American serviceman) and raised in Los Angeles, California, Browne has sold over 17 million albums in the United States alone!

Jackson Browne became very popular in the 1970's due to some of his most popular and famous songs like "Somebody's Baby", "The Pretender", "These Days", "Lawyers in Love", and "Running on Empty". He's noted as being an activist and his music is known to encourage and advocate for different social issues, like the environment, being one of the reasons why he became so popular.

In 2004, Jackson Browne was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame by his friend and fellow musician Bruce Springsteen. That same year Jackson Browne also received an honorary Doctorate of Music from Los Angeles' Occidental College, being quoted in reference to Jackson Browne's career as "a remarkable musical career that has successfully combined an intensely personal artistry with a broader vision of social change and justice".
